When in Spain, do as ...  And we did!  We had our Gourmand Breaks suggestions for Tapas places and we tried a few.  Tapas are small plates/portions of many varied items.  A few that we tried - seen below - are beef skewer, spare ribs, tempura asparagus, and chicken leg.
On the schedule for the day was a trip to the winery of Augusti Torello.  Here they produce cava wines which are Spain's only sparkiling wines.  It was Sunday and the winery was quiet.  However we had a nice tour of the facility with our guide.  The bottles have an interesting shape and they are kept at an angle so the sediment settles at the neck.

Of course no winery tour is complete without tastings.  We were joined by the owner, Augusti Torello for a sampling of his wines and a few delicacies.

After our winery visit, we were off to lunch.  Our lunch spot was in some hills about 20 miles from the winery.  Our drive had his GPS however route initially presented took us up a narrow mountain "road?" that eventually gave out before reaching the destination.  We backtracked, went around the mountain and found the way to Cal Agusti restaurant.
Jabugo Cured Ham with Crystal Bread
Chiken & Jabugo Ham Croquettes
Grilled Lamb RIbs
Roasted Penedes Duck with Prunes & PInes
After this outstanding lunch, we headed back to Barcelona via the coastal town of Sitges.  We limited our Sitges visit to a drive down the main street which is right along the coast.  Beaches on one side and hotels, restaurants, etc. on the other.

Montserrat

It's our last day in Spain.  Granny and I don't do too well with a totally free day, so we arranged for a trip to Montserrat.  Montserrat is a little over 1 hour drive from Barcelona in the Catalan mountains.  Weather wasn't too nice and certainly not conducive to walking.   We had heard that the boys' choir performed at noon time each day.  Because we weren't going to be walking much, we decided to go into the monastery early, get a good seat and wait for the concert.
Aptly named, Montserrat really looks to be in a serrated mountain.  The monastery, which was the prime focus of our visit, is nestled into the side of the mountain.
Even though we got there early, our seats for the concert were still a ways back.  It was worth the wait.  The concert was excellent.  Click HERE to hear a small segment of the concert by the Montserrat Boys Choir.

All that was left was to return to the hotel, pack up and be ready to head home in the morning.  All in all a GREAT trip!
