On our way from Rabat to Fes we made two stops.  First was Meknes and the first stop in Meknes was the agdal basin.  The basin served as a reservoir and is now a park like area.  We had a nice stroll and admired the modern sculpture of a water carrier.  Also the remains of the ancient aqueduct.

From the agdal basin, we went on to the medina and the center of activity.
Next it was on to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubulis.  The terrain was going to be too difficult for Granny so she stayed with Hassan while I went on an abbreviated tour with our guide.  The ruins are fantastic.  While I didn't see a lot of the ruins, what I did see were wonderful.  The condition of the mosaics is amazing.
Yes, this is desert as seen by the cacti in the picture, upper right.

It seems the transportation is the same whether you're delivering a refrigerator or just out for a ride.

Granny wanted to rest this morning so I went with our guide, Ali, to the Fes medina.

We entered through the "Blue Gate" which is the main entrance to the medina.  In no time at all we were in the middle of food stalls.
One of the first stalls was a vendor of kiwis.  He was peeling some samples and offered one to me.  Of course I HAD to try it.

There were baked goods, fruits, vegetables, olives, chickens and eggs.  The riddle is solved.  The chickens came before the eggs.
