For lunch today we have our three salads and two hot dishes.  The hot dishes are shrimp and an egg dish which I don't recall how it was made.  I do remember it was wonderful.

After lunch it was time to visit Dijon.  Dijon is the capiral of the Burgandy region of France and is probably best known for Dijon mustard.  Matthew, our captain/guide, informed us that although a lot of mustard may be called Dijon mustard most is not made in Dijon.

Granny and I strolled around the block, visited a store and bought some mustard and then strolled some more.  Walking for both of us is slow and with frequent stops so we didn't venture too far.  However, we did get a little look at the town.
What is any city without a Subway?
It's time to head back to the barge and get ready for our dinner ashore at Hostellerie du Chapeau Rouge.  This is a Michelin two star restaurant.  The group picture at the start of the barge trip section was taken just before leaving for our special dinner  That's why all the dress-up attire.

Dinner was in a private dining room where we were presented with a fixed menu with our choice of 3 items for appetizer, entree and dessert.  And of course we had our choice of either a red or white wine to accompany the meal.

Below is a picture of the full group followed by pictures of each course, hopefully with the name of the dish.
There was an assortment of breads.  First we were presented with a plate of small varied appetizers and a second appetizer - un-named.

For the first course I selected the Sweetbread Grapefruit and Carbonnara Foam shown on the left.  Granny ordered the Foie Gras in Two Ways.  The picture on the right shows the cold foie gras.  No picture of the hot.

For the entree I opted for the Iberian Pork, Organic Vegetables while Granny chose the fish of the day which was whiting.

The entrees were followed by a cheese course.  We were presented with a full selection and could choose the ones we wanted to try.  My selection is shown on the right.  I don't remember the names but they were good!

Both Granny and I selected the Grand Marnier Souffle with Grand Marnier Sorbet and Orange.
Our meal ashore was good.  But it was unanimous, the food on the barge was MUCH better!!  Cheers for Tadek!
