After lunch it was time to visit Dijon. Dijon is the capiral of the Burgandy region of France and is probably best known for Dijon mustard. Matthew, our captain/guide, informed us that although a lot of mustard may be called Dijon mustard most is not made in Dijon.
Granny and I strolled around the block, visited a store and bought some mustard and then strolled some more. Walking for both of us is slow and with frequent stops so we didn't venture too far. However, we did get a little look at the town.
It's time to head back to the barge and get ready for our dinner ashore at Hostellerie du Chapeau Rouge. This is a Michelin two star restaurant. The group picture at the start of the barge trip section was taken just before leaving for our special dinner That's why all the dress-up attire.
Dinner was in a private dining room where we were presented with a fixed menu with our choice of 3 items for appetizer, entree and dessert. And of course we had our choice of either a red or white wine to accompany the meal.
Below is a picture of the full group followed by pictures of each course, hopefully with the name of the dish.
